Restaurant Review: Irvington's Bistro & Pizza

Stone Fire Pizza is one of the newest restaurants in Irvington and serves excellent, family style, Italian cuisine.  Located at 76 Main Street, Stone Fire Pizza sits right in the heart of "downtown" Irvington.

This isn't like your typical pizzeria as Stone Fire Pizza is a sit-down restaurant with an excellent atmosphere, a variety of dishes, and top-of-the-line service.

When you walk in to SFP, you instantly notice its state of the art brick oven and its large collection of wines. It has an inviting large bar at the front for couples and sport fans alike and the manager and servers are friendly, accommodating and just plain nice.... it's an upscale neighborhood pizzeria/restaurant/bar where everybody knows your name and one of my favorite places to eat in Irvington.

SFP's pizza pies are unmatched in the Rivertowns. The last time I went I was delighted with home made warm bread accompanied by olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette; the Stone Fire Italian Pisano pizza was a perfect blend of fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, roasted garlic, sausage and wood roasted peppers.

Although the variety of pizzas are the highlight of the menu, there is also a wide assortment of entrees made up of pastas, meats, salads and panini sandwiches.  My friends are big fans of the Grilled Tuscan Style Steak served over broccoli rabe and roasted fingerling potatoes, and the Penne Vodka with prosciutto, baby peas and vodka cream sauce.

Though SFP is more formal than your typical  pizzeria, it is also welcome to children and has a children's menu that offers classic chicken fingers, mac & cheese, and of course pizza!

Despite being new to Irvington, Stone Fire Pizza established itself as a staple in the Irvington restaurant scene. With its warm and welcoming atmosphere,  people and food, it truly represents the epitome of Irvington living. And, it is affordable!  It is a restaurant I love going to with my family and friends and I highly recommend it!
